Can I use more than one objective in a Topology Optimization?
Yes, more than one objective can be considered in TopOpt by populating the Design Response List in your Optimization Objective block with more than one design response.
Multiple objectives can be used to consider the response of a part to several different loading cases a part may experience. They can also be used to balance an optimization based on both displacement response and compliance, for example. All of the various Boundary Conditions lists must share the same Displacement Restraint ('Fix') block. The importance of each objective can be given a weighting factor using the Weights input, based on the following equation. (The weighting factors are not normalized.) If the weighting input is left empty, the multiple objectives will be equally weighted.
